More about The ChildRoots Way

The ChildRoots Way is how we have come to describe our unique brand of child care designed to honor each child's authentic, powerful self and support them in their development and acquisition of essential life skills.

We see the infant as a competent person. We treat her with respect and individual care.

We talk to her continuously, narrating for her what is going to happen, when it's going to happen and why it's going to happen. We communicate with infants in many ways - using words, song, sign language and facial expressions. We provide her with visually and orally stimulating exercises and allow her space and freedom to explore her environment.

We document her rapid developmental changes, record her daily events - inputs and out puts - and communicate with parent's daily.

We pay close attention to each infant's cues - feeding her when she is hungry, offering her mat when she is tired, changing her when she is soiled. In this way we follow each child's individual rhythm, until inevitably, and naturally it falls in line with the other infants in our care.

We do not use contraptions in our infant classrooms - no high chairs, cribs, or bouncers.
We welcome breast feeding mothers and are equally comfortable storing and serving breast milk as we are formula.
